Illustration
Geegebee’s illustration work comes straight from the hand of Gigi Baddeley. With a love for colour-based storytelling and influences from art mediums like spray paint, coloured pencil, gouache and linocut-style mark making, her work brings together harmonious palettes, textured linework and messy techniques that feel distinctly human-made.
Character Design
Gigi also works at creating characters with animation movement at the forefront of her noggin. For a character to move smoothly with a rig, or be hand drawn again and again. She designs with strong shape language, clever layering and intentional simplicity, that all work towards maintaining that balance between beautiful characters and the wrist health of its animator.
Original IP – The Arcobaleno Home
The Arcobaleno Home is a surrealist animated web series concept created and directed by Gigi Baddeley. Developed as a 12-episode original IP, the story explores memory, grief, friendship and the afterlife through a strange, colourful and dreamlike cartoon world.
Developed during Gigi’s final year of university, the teaser trailer was created with a team of 12 animators, artists and creatives, bringing together storyboarding, concept art, asset design, animation, rigging, compositing and sound.
